News

On March 31st, 2009, the Observatory on Québec Securities Law and the Autorité des marches financiers launched the Guide on investors’ rights. This guide, available on Internet (www.droitsdesinvestisseurs.com), is designed to familiarize the investors with rules governing their investments and to present them their rights, obligations and recourses in situations of conflict. The launch took place in the Professors’ Lounge at the Law Faculty of the University of Montreal.

The CLBIT would like to congratulate its director, professor Stéphane Rousseau, on its recent promotion to the rank of full professor, as well as one of its members, professor Ejan Mackaay, to whom the university council conferred emeritus professor's status for the exceptional character of its career.

Congratulations to professor Diane Bruneau whose project on the legislative changes to be brought to the trust institution in Québec was selected for the Research Fellowship Program offered by Borden Ladner Gervais. A $12 000 grant will allow the student recipient, Mr. Julien Brosseau, to collaborate to the project and to assist professor Bruneau in her researches this summer.

We wish the most cordial welcome to professor Didier Lluelles who recently joined the ranks of the CIBLT as associated researcher.

Professor Ejan Mackaay took his official pension of the Law Faculty of the University of Montreal in December 2008; he will remain researcher to the Center. The team of the CLBIT wishes him great success in his projects.
